Amelia Island Tourist Development Council Celebrates Record-Breaking 2015
February 29, 2016 - Amelia Island hosted a record 618,200 overnight visitors in 2015, a 7.6 percent increase over 2014, and who collectively spent $433 million while visiting, a 10.7 percent increase from the previous year. The figures were presented during the Feb. 24 board meeting of the Amelia Island Tourist Development Council (TDC). The organization shared its final 2015 performance metrics and results related to visitation, tourism and the economy. The board also reviewed a five-year history of performance, and comparisons to other northeast Florida destinations.

Cook Nassau Center has added two new complete program options for students to complete their Associate in Science and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Rayonier Advanced Materials Announces Lignin Partnership Plans with Borregaard ASA
September 14, 2015 - JACKSONVILLE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Rayonier Advanced Materials (NYSE:RYAM) announced today that it has entered into a non-binding letter of intent (LOI) with Borregaard ASA to form a joint venture (JV) at its Fernandina Beach facility for the manufacturing, marketing and sale of natural lignin-based products. The new company will be owned 45 percent by RYAM and 55 percent by Borregaard.
