Linking the Future
David Yulee is known as the “Father of Florida’s railroads”, having constructed a rail line that would eventually run from Fernandina Beach on the county’s east side across the entire Florida peninsula to Cedar Key on the Gulf Coast. Today rail serves as the impetus for future growth with dual Class I rail lines, CSX and Norfolk Southern, intersecting at the Crawford Diamond Industrial Park and over six miles of Class III rail, First Coast Railroad, adjacent the Wildlight Industrial Park.
Companies like Rayonier Advanced Materials and WestRock have called Nassau County home for close to 80 years, making way for recent manufacturers ALM Technologies, Rosenblad Design and Science First, blending history with a diverse future.
