the Barn at Cottonwood Ranch

Day 2 of Economic Development Week! Today we celebrate entrepreneurs by exploring local businesses spotlighting The Barn at Cottonwood Ranch! NCEDB had the opportunity to tour this tucked-away treasure in Callahan. Cottonwood Ranch is not only a gorgeous event venue but also a self-sustaining Angus Cattle operation.

Cottonwood Ranch is on 759 sprawling acres of beautiful pastures, ancient hardwoods, and multiple freshwater ponds. The Barn is spacious, elegant, and secluded with large windows, a grand front porch, and high cathedral ceilings and can seat 299 guests. Over 85% of the lumber used to build the barn was harvested from Cottonwood Ranch. Something extra special about this event venue is that it has a separate Groom’s Barn! A whole house separated from The Barn, just for the groom and his groomsmen. Complete with a full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, and upstairs entertainment area.

Cottonwood Ranch grows and harvests their own healthy hay. All the ponds are spring-fed, so their cattle enjoy the freshest water. Their cattle operation is self-sufficient, and they take immense pride in working the land responsibly, rotating the herd through different cross-fenced pastures to ensure that their Riata Bahia grass stays healthy all season long. Their cattle are free-range and never fed any artificial growth hormones. They work with their cattle every day to ensure they remain healthy and happy. Cottonwood Ranch is also a premier provider of quality Angus beef.

Karen Brantly has hosted many clients throughout the country and encourages her guests to visit Amelia Island to enjoy the island's culture and charm, benefiting Nassau County as a whole.
